Hot Sauce Racer--Mui Caliente!

We like hot sauce here at Somnio and splorch it on just about everything we eat. So we knew exactly what to call our new lightweight racing shoe. Here's a sneak peak of the Hot Sauce Racer, the first glimpse provided to the public. It comes out this summer, and it's our lightest shoe, made for race days when you really need to fly. You'll feel like you're on fire running in these beauties. Just don't put this Hot Sauce on your eggs.

London Evening Standard Reviews Somnios

The Evening Standard's Health and Beauty section has a story about Somnios headlined "Bespoke fitness: the best tailor made regimes in London." The review highlights the benefits of Somnio's customizable setup, and mentions that left and right shoes can be adjusted to accommodate different leg lengths. "Hop onto a running machine and get filmed running along at about 10km per hour. The film demonstrates how little your conventional trainers support your ankles and shows how to achieve better leg alignment." Somnios can be purchased in London at Profeet.

Somnio Running Comes to Myrtle Beach

Ten-thousand runners will toe the line this Saturday (Feb 13) awaiting the starting gun of the Myrtle Beach Marathon, and Somnio Running will be there in force. Our local Somnio retailer is Grand Strand Bicycles, the region's top shop for triathletes, runners and cyclists. Grand Strand has just received a huge shipment of Somnio's customizable running shoes, so any runners in town for the marathon should take a trip to check out the shoe that Popular Science ranked as one of the top innovations of 2009. The owners of Grand Strand decided to stock Somnios because they were looking for a shoe that is completely different than anything else on the market. In fact, you can check out their new radio ad about Somnios here, which is running on a local station.

We want YOU…to Become a Somniac

2010 Somnio Self Control

To spread the Runaisance to all corners of the nation, Somnio has created a novel program that trains health professionals, podiatrists, physical therapists and devoted runners to become ambassadors of the brand. It’s called the Somniac Affiliate Program. Once trained, Somniacs hold clinics and Somnio shoe fittings in their communities. Somniacs are not retailers and do not carry a stock of shoes but rather operate to aide people in their running community to achieve the Perfect Fit. They then have customers buy direct from the Somnio web site with a promotional code that entitles consumers to a discount. If you’d like to learn more, email Somniacs@somniorunning.com

We have Somniacs in California, Hawaii, Wisconsin and a dozen other states. Our next Somniacs get-together will be held in San Diego on February 13. If you live in SD, run on over.

Here are the details:

When: Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 9am (immediately following the San Diego Track Club group run).
Where: Hospitality Point in Mission Bay.
Hosted by: Andrea Henry, MS, PT, CPT, Somnio Affiliate Fitter.

Joining Andrea will be gait analysis expert Tim Hilden from the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine. Following an overview of the Somnio fit philosophy, Tim, Andrea and the Somnio team will conduct fittings throughout the morning.
